The first Laguiole Knife was made by a farmer in 1829, in the small village of Laguiole in Aveyron region of France.
Laguiole is not a brand name and therefore doesn’t belong to 1 specific company, which is why you can find Laguiole style cutlery made legally in different countries, across a range of prices and quality points.
More than 30 different companies operate in the 2 main sites of French production, the city of Thiers, the French cutlery capital in Massif Central and the village of Laguiole in Aveyron.
In recent years, some Laguiole knifes made in China have been distributed in Europe, America, Australasia; quality and style are very mediocre.
Since 1999, our supplier has been exclusively importing Laguiole from Coutellerie Neron (3rd Generation manufacturer based outside Thiers City), considered one of the best knife manufacturers in France.
The Coutellerie Neron cutlery brings a touch of sophistication and style to your table.
Each handle features the trademark ‘bee’, stainless steel bolsters, five-rivet construction and Abs plastic for extra durability and maintenance free use.
Blades are made from high grade stainless steel, stamped, polished, then micro serrated to give a sharp cutting edge.
Each item has an authenticity certificate.
